Aspen

Aspen trees are sort of my version of Monet's haystacks. (not saying I'm Monet)

I love the repetition of line, making aspen groves almost abstracts. From a science nerd aspect I love that they are colonies of clones. You can even tell different clone groups because they change color at the same time each fall and bloom at the same time in the spring. 

Anyway here are some recently completed aspen pieces, each has a slight iridescence to the sky and feature heavily textured foregrounds. They're all that perfect feature piece for a room.
